About Blood Viscosity & The Complete Blood Viscosity Profile
Blood viscosity is a measure of the thickness and stickiness of your blood—quantifying how easily blood flows through your vessels. Blood viscosity is the only biological marker that has been associated with all other major cardiovascular risk factors, including high blood pressure, elevated LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, Type II Diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, smoking, chronological age, and male gender.
The Complete Blood Viscosity Profile: Includes both systolic (high shear) and diastolic (low shear) measures of whole blood viscosity, as well as a Complete Blood Count (CBC) with platelets and differential, BUN, and Creatinine. Because cellular integrity is time-sensitive (48–72 hours), specimens must be shipped overnight Monday through Wednesday.
